🎄 A Festive Friday at Thetford Garden Centre! 🎶
Our wonderful Years 1 and 2 children were invited to Thetford Garden Centre after school on Friday to sing - and what a magical time we had!
The children were so excited to perform for their parents, relatives and friends, who made the most amazingly supportive audience. Their smiles (and singing!) lit up the whole garden centre.
They performed a selection of lovely festive songs, including a special sneak preview of two pieces from our upcoming Pre-Prep Christmas show. ✨
We are also thrilled that Years 1 and 2 will soon be decorating the Christmas tree that Thetford Garden Centre are kindly gifting to us. We can’t wait to see it sparkle!
Thank you to everyone who came along and to Thetford Garden Centre for such a warm welcome. 🎄

🔥 Great Fire of London – Year 1 & 2 Learning Showcase! 🔥
Our pupils in Years 1 and 2 have been busy learning all about the Great Fire of London. Here are some of our wonderful Year 2 children proudly sharing the incredible models they created at home as part of their extended learning homework!
Alongside their model-making, the children also took part in a variety of activities, including designing fire safety posters, thinking about what they and their families might save in an emergency, and painting their own interpretations of what the Great Fire may have looked like if they had lived during that time.
A huge well done to all of the children for their hard work and creativity—and a big thank you to their brilliantly supportive parents! 🔥✨👏

Today we invited our 11+ scholars to Scholar’s Brunch. Pupils proudly showcased the incredible range of scholarly activities they have been involved in — both inside and outside of school.
From scuba diving adventures to museum explorations, academic competitions and even the successful achievement of a grade 9 at early GCSE entry, our Scholars demonstrated an inspiring commitment to curiosity and challenge.
Students brought along medals, certificates, project work and photographs of themselves in action — a true display of passion, hard work and dedication.
Staff were thoroughly impressed by the variety and ambition of our scholars’ pursuits — a huge well done to everyone who took part!
Mrs Butler-Hand will be leading an information session next week for all pupils looking to apply for a 13+ scholarship.

🌍 Year 7 Geography Skills – Michaelmas Term 🌍
This term, our Year 7 students have been developing their Geography Skills through an exciting project — the Geography Passport Challenge! ✈️
Each student created their very own Geography Passport, introducing themselves through six creative challenges. These tasks encouraged them to share information about their lives while making connections to local, national, and international locations.
In addition, students researched a current geographical news story and completed a book review, showcasing their curiosity and growing understanding of the world around them. 🌎📚
The most impressive passports earned a spot on our Excellent Homework Wall, celebrating outstanding attention to detail, fantastic writing, and brilliant effort.
👏 A huge well done to Felicia, Aiden, William, and Daniel for their exceptional work!

In this term's English lessons with Mrs Butler-Hand, Year 7 have explored the powerful world of war poetry, focusing on how poets use language to shape our understanding of conflict. Pupils compared and contrasted the upbeat propaganda of Jessie Pope’s Who’s for the Game? with Wilfred Owen’s harrowing Dulce et Decorum Est, examining how each poet uses imagery, tone and poetic devices to convey very different perspectives on war.
To finish the unit, students created their own blackout poems inspired by In Flanders Fields, revealing strikingly original and moving interpretations of the famous text. The unit encouraged thoughtful discussion, creative expression and a deeper appreciation for how poetry captures the realities of war.

Our Year 6 French pupils have been mastering structures and vocabulary on the theme of “Where I live.” 🏡
They’ve been combining countries, weather, and cardinal points in a game of 'Mastermind' — testing their knowledge and teamwork along the way. 🎯
Bravo, les garçons ! 👏🇫🇷
