🌊🐠 Deep-Sea Divers Day – what an amazing way to start the term! 🐠🌊 Years 3, 4 and 5 made a real splash as they dived into our exciting Deep-Sea Divers Day! From mastering underwater-style communication skills to bravely exploring the mysterious blackout trench, our young explorers showed fantastic teamwork, curiosity and confidence throughout the day. The children were fascinated as they examined our ecosystem jar, taking a closer look at marine life and learning about the delicate balance that exists beneath the ocean’s surface. To finish, pupils put their creativity to the test by designing their very own bioluminescent sea creatures, inspired by real deep-sea animals. A fun, immersive and memorable learning experience for all – well done, divers! 🌊👏

🍫✨ What a sweet way to end our ‘Chocolate’ topic! ✨🍫 Our Year 1 and Year 2 children had a fantastic time taking part in a special Chocolate Experience Day at school. Throughout the day, they learned a variety of chocolate-making techniques and got hands-on creating their own delicious treats, including truffles, chocolate bark, and chocolate fudge. The children loved getting creative by personalising their bark and truffles with their own unique touches. 🍬 To finish the day, everyone carefully packaged their goodies in beautiful, fancy wrapping—ready to take home and share (if they didn’t eat them first! 😄). Each child also received a cookery book, so they can recreate their tasty treats at home and continue developing their new skills. Well done to all our budding chocolatiers! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

📚✨ Year 7 Storybook Project ✨📚 As part of our recent World Book Day celebrations, Year 7 pupils recently became authors and storytellers as part of their storybook project. After researching popular children’s picture books and presenting their favourite childhood stories to the rest of the class, pupils explored what makes a story truly memorable. They then planned, drafted and edited their own original tales before carefully crafting them into beautifully illustrated storybooks. The highlight of the project was sharing their creations with our pre-prep pupils, reading their stories aloud and hearing which ones were their favourites! 📸 Artist of the Month - March 📸 Congratulations to our Artist of the Month for March, Felicia in Year 7. Felicia has been learning to compose images using different compositions, such as bird's eye and worm's eye. Felicia's bird's eye photograph features her younger brother Tobi.

As part of their Ancient Greece week studies, Year 6 learned about typical mealtimes … but in French! Here is a brief presentation of their findings!

This half term, our Year 10, 12 and 13 DT students had the fantastic opportunity to visit Pegasus Profiles in Thetford. The company kindly organised the trip, giving students a valuable behind-the-scenes look at how a job progresses from initial concept right through to manufacture. During the visit, students gained insight into the use of advanced equipment such as laser cutters, water jets, and flame cutters, used to produce metal parts for industries including agriculture and signage. It was particularly interesting to learn about the crucial role designers play within the business and how their ideas are brought to life through precision engineering.
