Cassie in Year 12, and Annie in Year 13 were selected to represent TGS at the 2021 Model European Parliament (MEP).
The MEP has been running for over twenty years, with Sixth Formers from all the member countries of the European Union and Accession States meeting twice a year to discuss and debate a variety of current issues that are relevant to countries across the European Union.
TGS was invited to send Sixth Form students as part of the United Kingdom’s delegation of five to the 54th international session hosted in Berlin, Germany. This was a great honour, as they have represented our country at international level.
Cassie took part on the committee for Agriculture and Rural Development; while Annie was part of the committee for Environmental and Food Safety.
Both students have said that the experience has boosted their efficiency and confidence levels and are looking forward to writing up on their experiences.
A huge congratulations to both students for their achievements!

When in Year 11 last year, Maia entered and won the National Book Tokens design competition. Not only did Maia win the 13 - 16 category but her design was the overall winner and will be available as a book token in bookshops before Christmas.
Maia's prize was a book token to spend for herself and £250 for the school. In a visit to Not Just Books in Thetford Maia chose books with fellow students of all ages in mind. Helping her was keen reader Dev who has represented Thetford Grammar School in events such as last year's National Reading Champions Quiz and who also chose books for the Prep School and Senior School libraries.
"I'm so pleased for Maia that she was able to combine her artistic skills and love of reading to win this competition" said Mrs Julie Settle, School Librarian, "and I am grateful to her that we can boost the shelves of our two libraries with these new books. It's marvellous that we have such an inviting and inspiring independent book shop just around the corner in Thetford." Mrs Settle expressed her gratitude to Mrs Jane James of Not Just Books for offering a discount to help stretch the tokens further.

Congratulations to our Artist of the Month for September, Jonathan in Year 7. Jonathan has completed a beautiful sketchbook page on his current topic of 'Line'. He has experimented with different styles of lines, creating a mark-making border around his page. Well done, Jonathan!

Within our 100% pass-rate, 92% of grades were A* to B, 65% were A* to A, and 43% overall were A* grades.
Despite pandemic-related disruption across both years of A level study, our students have shown resilience and determination, arguably working even harder than usual to achieve incredible results that are in keeping with those of previous cohorts in recent years. We are very proud of our students and the success that they have earned.

🐝 Introducing the TGS Bee Hotel 🐝
Recently during Discovery Club, pupils have been busy bees making their very own TGS Bee Hotel!
Situated in the Outdoor Classroom, pupils with the help of Mrs Faye and the Maintenance Team, made the hotel out of pallets, bricks, tiles, wood and more. To make the hotel more welcoming and help attract the bees, they also planted some flowers and shrubs around the hotel.
Fantastic work, we're certain the bees will be very happy with their new accommodation at TGS 🐝

"The support and camaraderie that I experienced at TGS allowed me the confidence to pursue a career path that at times felt out of reach, and in my opinion that is the greatest service a school can provide a student. I am forever indebted!”
We asked our Alumni to share how their time at TGS helped build their professional lives.
"Without the support, extra hours and the personal touch offered by the teachers at TGS, my story could have been very different. Thank you, TGS!”
