Despite pandemic-related disruption across both years of A level study, our students have shown resilience and determination, arguably working even harder than usual to achieve incredible results that are in keeping with those of previous cohorts in recent years. 🐝 Introducing the TGS Bee Hotel 🐝 Recently during Discovery Club, pupils have been busy bees making their very own TGS Bee Hotel! Situated in the Outdoor Classroom, pupils with the help of Mrs Faye and the Maintenance Team, made the hotel out of pallets, bricks, tiles, wood and more. To make the hotel more welcoming and help attract the bees, they also planted some flowers and shrubs around the hotel. Our Y5 and Y6 class have been covering the topic Britain since WW2, focussing on the decades from 1950-1990. They worked in pairs and chose a subject they would like to research to produce a project that they could present to other classes. The pupils really enjoyed being in charge of their own work and produced some fabulous pieces. Artist of the Month - June Congratulations to our Artist of the Month, Jack in Year 5. Jack created a wire sculpture of a bird which he carefully covered with tissue paper and finished with mark-making. Great work, Jack! Part 1 - Year 8 - Portraiture and Sculpture Year 8 studied facial proportions and features, creating a self portrait in pencil. The group have explored various levels of abstraction, referencing the work of Barbara Hepworth. Amber - Year 13 - Graphic Design “For my Cromer project I was asked to design a label for a fishmongers. During this project I did many sketches of crabs and lobsters in multiple different medias. I really enjoyed this as I love sketching and creating a diverse range of work.
