Pastoral Overview
Pastoral care sits at the heart of the Pre-Prep experience, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. From their earliest days at school, pupils are supported within a warm, nurturing environment that recognises the importance of both emotional wellbeing and personal development.
Our staff cultivate strong and trusting relationships with pupils, creating a secure atmosphere in which children feel confident to explore, take risks in their learning and develop a sense of independence. Our Pre-Prep is guided by the school’s core values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience, which are embedded throughout daily school life and encourage pupils to grow not only as learners, but as thoughtful and considerate members of the community.
Partnership with parents is a defining feature of the school’s ethos. Families are regularly welcomed into school to share in their child’s learning, strengthening the connection between home and school. Parents consistently speak of the close relationships their children develop with staff and the open, supportive communication that underpins school life.
Beyond the classroom, pupils are encouraged to discover and develop their individual interests. A varied programme of co-curricular opportunities, including clubs such as chess, cookery, sign language, art, yoga and guitar, allows children to explore new skills and build confidence in a range of settings.
Together, the academic and pastoral provision across EYFS to Year 2 creates an environment in which pupils feel secure, inspired and confident—equipping them with the strong foundations and character needed for the next stage of their education.
