Pupil Specific Teaching Assistant

Purpose: Thetford Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Learning Support Assistant to join the School from February 2024. This role will primarily require the successful candidate to support a specific student within either KS2 or KS3 to access all areas of the curriculum but may also involve general in-class support in KS3 English, Maths and Science lessons.

This is a term-time only position. Salary will be commensurate with the level of candidate experience.

The school would welcome applications from a Level 3 (or higher) qualified TA. This role could be the ideal step in a teaching career and as such may also be suitable for a GAP year or post graduate student.

Host Families

Willing and able to provide a supportive environment for these pupils to live, relax and study in outside of school hours, Host Families are an integral part of school life at TGS providing a home-away-from home for our bright, polite and engaging international pupils. 

As well as being part of the school's boarding network and gaining experience of working with young people, Host Families have access to safeguarding training plus a wide range of CPD-certified courses covering more than 40 education-related areas. Host Families are provided with ongoing support and opportunities to meet and discuss developments with the school's Senior Leadership Team.
