Megan

Former Student

Hello, I’m Megan, 22, a former pupil from TGS. I studied Fine Art, Photography and Geography as my A-level subjects back in 2015.

I was lucky enough to have such supportive, knowledgeable and inspiring teachers who always went above and beyond.

From a young age, I always knew that my passions lay within the creative fields. Whilst in school, my art teachers would always immerse me in the work of other artists and photographers. This massively helped inform my practice and has given me a really good knowledge of the creative world around me.

Alongside my subjects, I also enjoyed working on the annual school publication, The Fulmerstonian, where my passion for graphic design began. I then applied to study Graphic Communication at Bath School of Art & Design, where I was able to learn the fundamentals
of the analogue world and discover the relationship between type and image. I was also greatly touched by the fact both of my Art teachers from TGS travelled all the way to Bath to attend my degree show last year; it meant so much to me.

6 months after graduation, I became a full-time Junior designer at Hole & Corner which is a magazine that celebrates craftsmanship, heritage and tells stories of dedication. I never expected to get this position as it was a company I have admired hugely for several years.
The last 5 years have taught me that if you want something enough, you can make it happen.
